Monday Minute 8/3/20
A weekly recap of what’s going on here at Run 4 the Hills.
New this week? I teamed up with my friends at Laboo to host a Back 2 School giveaway on Instagram! Up for grabs is a $20 gift card for a customized shirt or tank from Laboo, and a $50 gift card towards a fitness plan from Run 4 the Hills. In other news, some of my athletes and I ran time trials on Friday to make up for cancelled races. Laura and I ran a 5k, and Paula ran a mile. No PRs were made, but we all put forth our best efforts and have some good finishes to improve on next time! With a lack of in-person races happening these days, time trials are a great way to set goals and track progress. Personally, I was hoping for a sub 21:00 finish, but finished in 21:24. I was pleased with my splits though- we ran on a rail-trail that is slightly downhill going out and uphill coming back, and I always struggle to maintain pace on that slight uphill, but this time I did manage to make my last mile my fastest! (I don’t look at my watch during races but rather run by feel, so I really had to focus on not letting the downhill carry me away, and then pushing harder on the uphill.)
